UPDATE: Rochester police identify suspect who allegedly stole shuttle van

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – The Rochester Police Department (RPD) arrested Abdulkadir Mohamed, 39, in connection to a shuttle van that was stolen on October 11.

Mohamed had allegedly stolen a shuttle van, loaded people into it on Civic Center Dr., then headed north on Hwy 52 until police had to use spike strips to get the vehicle to stop.

RPD used surveillance video to identify and arrest Mohamed on Thursday after spotting him near train tracks close to where the van was originally stolen.

Mohamed is currently facing a felony motor vehicle theft charge in Olmsted County.

According to RPD, other charges may be pending in other counties.
