Sep. 22—Versailles is taking a significant step forward in supporting electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure with the installation of a DCFC charging station, made possible through a partnership with GOEVIN, Duke Energy, and strategically chosen cities across Indiana.

In preparation of National Drive Electric Week, this new addition in Versailles will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony and an EV Showcase provided by Honda, Southeastern Indiana REMC, and GOEVIN from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, September 23, at the Ripley County Welcome Center, 220 W US Hwy 50.

"We're so grateful to GOEVIN and Duke Energy for this opportunity to put our town on the map and encourage travelers to stop in Versailles," Holly Wehr, Ripley County Economic Development Board member and Director of Community Development for Versailles, said. "The charging station is a great addition to our community as we work to stimulate the local economy and attract more business."

As these GOEVIN DCFC chargers are continuing to come online and live, GOEVIN is honing in on additional locations to fill in the gaps of roadways that may be lacking a reliable fast charger.

Having a strong and robust alternative fueling infrastructure throughout the state of Indiana is the future of clean transportation and carries a commitment towards reducing emissions.
