Veterans Day program set in Bismarck; government offices closed Monday
Local veterans organizations will host a public Veterans Day Program at the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum in Bismarck from 9:45 a.m.-11 a.m. Monday.
Brig. Gen. Mitch Johnson, adjutant general of the North Dakota National Guard, will be the keynote speaker for the event in Russell Reid Auditorium. Gov. Doug Burgum and members of North Dakota's congressional delegation also will speak.
Bismarck and Mandan city offices and Burleigh and Morton county offices will be closed for Veterans Day.
There will be no garbage or recycling pickup in either city on Monday. Service will be delayed by one day all week in both cities. City landfills will be closed for the day in Bismarck but open in Mandan. Public schools are closed in both cities.
Labor Day also is a state and federal holiday. State and federal offices are closed, and there is no mail delivery.
