Von Maur Ready To Open First PA Store In Pittsburgh The Von Maur department store chain is about to establish a Pennsylvania presence in a Pittsburgh-area mall.BETHEL PARK, PA — Von Maur will hold a grand opening celebration Saturday as it debuts its two-story, 118,000-square-foot location at South Hills Village. The Iowa-based department store chain has spent the better part of a year transforming the former Sears store into its first Pennsylvania shopping destination.
The store will feature an exterior brick facade. Inside, shoppers can expect an open floor plan, original artwork and entertaining music from the store's grand piano.
"The unrivaled shopping experience created at South Hills Village through its enticing mix of shopping, dining and entertainment makes it a one-of-a-kind destination and an outstanding location for us to open our first location in Pennsylvania,"Von Maur president Jim von Maur said when the project first was announced.
"We are looking forward to becoming a part of the Pittsburgh community and showcasing a unique shopping environment for our customers for years to come."
On Saturday, Von Maur will welcome shoppers with roses, chocolates and Von Maur reusable shopping bags while supplies last. In addition, various gifts with purchases will be available throughout the store, and the kids' department will give away a limited number of Von Maur holiday activity books.
Several contests will be on-going throughout the day, giving customers the chance to win Von Maur gift cards. All shoppers who purchase an item in-store can redeem their receipt for a small gift and opportunity to return for a complimentary holiday picture.
Von Maur was founded more than 150 years ago. The company currently operates 36 stores in 15 states, along with a 120,000-square-foot e-commerce facility that drives its online business.
