Incumbent Democratic U.S. Representative Joseph Courtney is running for re-election to the 2nd District. Courtney serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Courtney told the Chronicle he's seeking re-election to continue the historic job growth across the submarine industrial base, which has a ripple effect on small submarine supply chain manufacturers across the entire region. If elected, he plans to pass new tax incentives to stimulate more housing construction, bringing down the cost of housing for everyone. Courtney also plans to pass a strong and balanced Farm Bill.
