TRENTON, Fla. (WCJB) — Two candidates, Republican Chad Johnson and Democrat David Arreola, are running for the state House of Representatives District 22. Voters in Gilchrist and Levy counties and parts of Alachua County are casting ballots in the race on Tuesday. Head of the election, Arreola's campaign raised $181,000 and Chad Johnson raised $277,000. On election day, voters in Trenton told TV20 they think it's important everyone casts their vote. "It's important to make an impact in what our day-to-day life is going to be like," said Sarah Goodwin. Both men defeated their opponents in the August primary election. "It's our inherent right to vote and I believe it's important so we can teach our kids they should vote as well to make sure their feelings are heard," said James Goodwin. This seat is up for grabs because Republican state Sen. Chuck Clemons is term-limited.
