'Law & Order' coffee talk

Baylor Lifelong Learning will hold "Law & Order," a coffee event featuring McClennan County District Attorney Josh Tetens, at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Mayborn Museum, 1300 S. University Parks Drive.

The event will include a question and answer session.

Book sale

The 61st annual Friends of the Waco-McLennan County Library Book Sale will run Thursday through Sunday in the Base at the Extraco Events Center, 4601 Bosque Blvd.

The sale will run 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $10 Nov. 14 and free on subsequent days. Prices on most items drop after Thursday. On Sunday, shoppers can bring their own bag and fill it with books for $1.

'Alice in Wonderland Jr.'

The Waco Civic Theatre, 1517 Lake Air Drive, will perform "Alice in Wonderland Jr." at 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $15.

Library cleanup

There will be a cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the South Waco Library, 2737 S. 18th St.

Volunteers will walk around the outside of the library to remove debris from the immediate area.

Scrap tire collection

The city of Waco will hold its annual scrap tire collection from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at 501 Schroeder Drive.

The collection is open to Waco residents with city of Waco water service. Each household can drop off up to 10 tires, excluding tractor tires and large truck tires.

Preregistration is encouraged at waco-texas.com/scraptire , but not required. Without preregistration, participants will have to show a current water bill and photo ID with matching address.

Bruceville-Eddy UMC vendor fair

Bruceville-Eddy United Methodist Church, 404 W. Third St., will hold a vendor fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Meet the author

Kimberly Kellison, an associate history professor and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Baylor University, will discuss her recent book, "Forging a Christian Order: South Carolina Baptists, Race, and Slavery, 1696-1860," during a Baylor Meet the Author session from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Schumacher Flex Commons in Moody Memorial Library. Baylor associate history professor Robert Elder will discuss the book with Kellison.

A reception and book signing will follow, and copies of the book will be for sale.

MCC Wind Ensemble

The McLennan Community College Wind Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Ball Performing Arts Center at MCC.

Admission is free.

DivorceCare seminar

A DivorceCare: Surviving the Holidays seminar for people facing the holidays after a separation or divorce will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at First Methodist Church of Waco, 4901 Cobbs Drive.

Attendees will receive a guide filled with practical tips, encouraging words, journaling ideas and exercises for daily help through the holiday season. Materials are $7. Scholarships are available.

Lake Waco walk

Waco Walks will hold a "Thank Goodness for Lake Waco Walk" starting at 9 a.m. Nov. 23 at the Lake Waco hike and bike trail parking lot off of Airport Road, next to the Bosque River between Fuzzy Friends Rescue and the soccer fields.

The walk will feature some of the history of the dam, how it works, and the flora and fauna of the area.

Arianna Jacinto, lead natural resources specialist and park ranger, will present information on the walk.

Travel training

Waco Transit System will provide a free travel training program from 2 to 3 p.m. Nov. 20, and the third Wednesday of every month. The goal is to empower individuals, especially those with disabilities or seniors, to use public transportation independently. The program aims to increase participants' confidence and mobility in the community.

Festival of Wreaths

A Festival of Wreaths will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 23 in the Nell Pape Garden Center at the Earle-Harrison House, 1705 N. Fifth St.

The event is free and includes wreaths for purchase, Santa Claus and a Christmas market.

Colcord Parade of Homes

A Colcord Avenue Parade of Homes will run from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Participants should meet at Good Neighbor House, 2301 Colcord Ave.

Tickets are $20, or $15 for members of Historic Waco, and available at historicwaco.org .
