E.Chen3 months ago
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A warm front lifts through the 1011 region today, resulting in a warm-up this afternoon. However, a cold front will drop through this evening and tonight... resulting in a chilly and breezy Thanksgiving. Mostly sunny and seasonally warm conditions expected for our Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the upper 50s to lower 70s with a southwesterly breeze between 10 to 15 mph with gust to 25 mph... thanks to the warm front. It is important to note that we will have high to very high fire danger today due to the slightly breezy, dry and seasonally warm conditions. Wednesday High Temperatures (KOLN) Tonight, a cold front will drop north to south through the state and cloud cover will increase behind it. Partly to mostly cloudy skies expected tonight and low temperatures will fall to the mid 20s and lower 30s. (KOLN) Thanksgiving will be cool, breezy and partly to mostly cloudy! We will be dry in the first half of the day BUT snow chances increase in the west for the second half of the day. Snow could be heavy in the west and therefore, a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Thursday afternoon through late Friday night for the northwest... at this time 4′′ to 6′′ with snow accumulation possible. Keep in mind that we could see some travel impacts in northwestern Nebraska for the holiday. (KOLN) (KOLN) (KOLN) With that being said, snow will be possible in the west for Thursday, but the same system could spread southeastward through the Thanksgiving weekend. The greatest potential for the “highest” totals will reside in western areas... much lighter possible accumulation in the eastern half of the state. Please stay up to date with the latest forecast details. (KOLN) The chilly temperatures settle in come Friday & Saturday but will rebound by Sunday and start of next week. The chance for flurries and light snow will be possible Friday night & Saturday, possibly lingering into Sunday morning. (KOLN)
