Waterbury man arrested in stolen car investigation
WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Waterbury police arrested a suspect for his alleged involvement in a car theft out of Sherman.
Jose Diaz, 25, of Waterbury was charged with misuse of marker plates, interfering with a police officer, larceny of motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.
Police arrested Diaz on late Wednesday night.

This comes after police located a stolen 2021 Audi A5 on Platt Street on Nov. 6, at around 11:08 p.m. As police observed the car, they noticed Diaz exit.
Police said that Diaz attempted to flee on foot to a nearby apartment building when they approached the car. After a brief pursuit, Diaz was arrested.
According to police, the suspect has a history of arrests related to stolen cars and probation violations.
Diaz is in custody at the Connecticut Department of Corrections on a $50,000 bond.
