WB I-74 closes in Cincinnati this weekend

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Westbound Interstate 74 will completely shut down this weekend between I-75 to just west of the southbound Beekman Street overpass, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

It's all part of the I-75/I-74 Mill Creek Expressway project and in preparation for the next round of paving blitz.

Motorists are reminded to be cautious and adhere to posted reduced speeds when traveling through construction work zones and detours.

ODOT's suggested detours:

  • WB Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway to SB I-275 to WB I-74
  • WB U.S. 50 to WB I-74
  • Ohio 128 to WB I-74
  • The on-ramps from NB and SB Beekman Street/Colerain Avenue to WB I-74 will remain open.

    There also will be overnight single-lane closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday

  • EB I-74 from the northbound Beekman Street overpass to the Elmore Street overpass
  • The ramp from southbound Beekman Street to I-74 East. Motorists will be detoured via Elmore, Colerain, and Beekman streets to WB I-74 and the Texas Turnaround at the Montana Avenue exit to EB I-74.
  • Friday and Saturday between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • EB I-74 from the Montana Avenue on-ramp to the Spring Grove Road overpass
