U-Haul has opened a new self-storage facility in Dauphin County.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Hershey opened the four-story facility with 1,000 climate-controlled storage units at 1000 Old W. Chocolate Ave. in Derry Township on Oct. 28. The company acquired the property in early 2022 and built the building on a property that was previously home to a small business that served as a U-Haul dealer location.

The facility also offers boxes and moving supplies.

"We are most excited to serve Hershey with this new facility," Kurt Hoffman, president of U-Haul Company of Harrisburg, said in a news release. "This community's self-storage needs have been underserved for some time."

A grand opening celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 13, which will include free lunch, facility tours and U-Haul giveaways.

Anyone interested in working at the facility can apply at jobs.uhaul.com .

The facility is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

U-Haul has more than 23,000 rental locations across all 50 states and 10 Canadian provinces.
