Weather Forecast: Clouds to sun as we kick off a sunny stretch

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – We have cold air this morning across Western New York and the Finger Lakes as many are in the lower 30s. Sunshine takes over this afternoon as dry air moves into the Great Lakes.

We put the plane into cruise control Thursday, Friday, and beyond. At the surface, deep high pressure from Mississippi to Maine ensures clear skies. Overhead, the upper level jet finds itself in Canada and we are under a broad ridge that prevents from any storm activity. While mornings will be chilly going into the weekend, afternoon high temperatures will go on a day-to-day warming with both Saturday and Sunday getting well into the 60s. This pattern should likely hold into early next week with highs in the lower 70s. We do a chance for showers Wednesday, but it doesn't look like much.
