Weber City VFD: Stateline Tire fire reignites, shelter in place issued
WEBER CITY, Va. (WJHL) — A fire that destroyed Stateline Tire in Weber City reignited on Tuesday morning.
According to the Weber City Volunteer Fire Department, a shelter-in-place for those near Stateline Tire (North 750 US-23) has been issued.
All businesses and homes with smoke in the area are asked to turn off HVAC systems and close windows.

"If you've got smoke showing in your [area], we want you to stay inside," Weber City VFD Chief Bruce Cross said. "[Shut] all your doors and windows, turn your HVAC off, all your air conditioning, heating systems shut it all down, and if at all possible, just leave the area if you can."
As of 8:19 a.m., Virginia Department of Transportation's website reports the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 23 in the Route 997E/W area are closed.
