LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Whether the economy is good or bad, there is always an element of the population that struggles to make ends meet, deciding whether to pay bills or buy food.

And to provide food for those in need is the ongoing mission of an East Texas non-profit.

The mission of the East Texas Food Bank Longview Resource Center is to fight hunger and feed hope in East Texas.

The Longview Resource Center is a program of ETFB located in South Longview at 2900 Signal Hill Drive.

The goal of the Longview Resource Center is to provide a one-stop-shop of wraparound services with a food pantry, benefits assistance, and other support services.

Since it opened last October, the facility has served 6,600 families and provided over 1.1 million meals.

According to Longview Branch Manager Amanda Debrosia, people come in each week to get food and fresh produce that they would otherwise not have the means to buy at supermarkets.
