A first look at the much-anticipated second season of Wednesday is finally here!

In a featurette for the upcoming installment of the Netflix series released on Friday, Sept. 20, Luis Guzmán — who plays Gomez Addams — kicked things off by welcoming fans back with the notable line, "Hello, my little storm cloud."

The scene then cuts to the titular Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega , holding a knife and saying, "Let's play dolls."

Full of behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the upcoming season, the trailer shows flashes of fire, elaborate sets and the town of Jericho, where it takes place.

Ortega then claps the scene marker, followed by Isaac Ordonez (Puggsly Addams) doing the same and Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair) declaring, "Welcome to the set of season two."

Catherine Zeta-Jones , who takes on the role of matriarch Morticia Addams, teases, "This season is going to be bigger and more twisted than you can ever imagine."

Dramatic music ushers in a sneak peek at big group scenes and some classic mysterious Wednesday moments, but it stops there.

"If we showed you any more, your eyes would bleed," Ortega says. "And I'm not that generous."

The show is set to premiere in 2025, but not many more details were given.

Along with Guzmán, Ortega, Zeta-Jones, Ordonez and Myers, Steve Buscemi , Joanna Lumley , Christopher Lloyd , Joy Sunday , Hunter Doohan, Fred Armisen , Thandiwe Newton , Victor Dorobantu, Billie Piper , Haley Joel Osment , Heather Matarazzo , Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Frances O'Connor, Joonas Suotamo and Jamie McShane will appear in season 2 of the horror series.

Missing from that list are season 1 regulars Percy Hynes White (who played Xavier Thorpe and previously confirmed his exit ) and Naomi J. Ogawa (who played Yoko Tanaka).

In January 2023, creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar confirmed in an interview with Netflix's Tudum that the show, which follows Wednesday's attempt to solve a monster mystery at her new school, Nevermore Academy, was renewed for a second season.

"It's been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world," they said in a statement. "Thrilled to continue Wednesday's tortuous journey into season two. We can't wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn't emptied the pool first."

During a conversation with Elle Fanning in 2023 for Variety's bi-annual Actors on Actors , Ortega explained that the show is "ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday" in the new season, which explains the absence of White and Ogawa.

"We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more," she revealed. "Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don't want to take yourself too seriously."

The characters were created by cartoonist Charles Addams for the famed comic series, before later becoming a television series in the 1960s. In the years since, its popularity has continued to spawn multiple adaptions across film and television, including the 1991 movie The Addams Family. Season 1 of Netflix's Wednesday spinoff premiered in 2022 and was an immediate hit.
