WEST HARTFORD, CT — Who couldn't use a little bit of kindness?
Starting Tuesday, Nov. 12, the West Hartford Public Library is kicking off its annual "Kindness Project," where folks roll up their sleeves and do some good for their fellow man.
The library's 8th Annual Kindness Project initiative will last through Dec. 13 and it will collect hygiene products and cleaning supplies for those in need at all library locations.
It is inspired by the book "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio — a story of learning to show compassion and kindness toward others.
As a result, the children's department at the library created the Kindness Project in 2017 to help children and adults in our community.
Donations will be delivered to the West Hartford Food Pantry and the Fern Street Universalist Church as part of their backpack program.
Donations can be dropped into specially marked boxes at each library.
All donated items must be new and unopened.
