West Orange Election Results Certified: See Winners, Write-In Votes
WEST ORANGE, NJ — That's a wrap for the 2024 election in West Orange.
On Tuesday, the Essex County Clerk's Office confirmed to Patch that the results from the general election have been certified in the wake of Election Day, which took place on Nov. 5.
West Orange voters cast ballots for two local races: town council and the board of education.
SCHOOL BOARD
Four candidates competed for two full terms on the West Orange Board of Education. Terms last for three years.
Eric Stevenson and Brian Rock emerged victorious. Here are the certified results, as per the clerk's office:
An unexpired term on the board of education was also up for election. Dia Nicole Bryant ran unopposed for the seat.
TOWN COUNCIL
Six candidates appeared on the ballot for three open seats on the West Orange Town Council this year. A seventh candidate, Bill Rutherford, ran as a write-in selection , nailing down nearly 800 votes.
Joyce Rudin, Joe Krakoviak and Michelle Casalino have emerged victorious. Here are the certified results, as per the clerk's office:
In addition to the above totals, a long list of candidates received write-in votes. Rutherford led the pack with his 789 votes. Other write-ins included:
