Wexford yarn-bombed as local community adds burst of colour for Fleadh Cheoil

A project which aims to "put a smile on people's faces" has added a burst of colour to a section of Wexford town and will continue to do so until after the Fleadh Cheoil. All those passing through Maudlintown in recent days will have seen the fruits of many months of labour, the completion of a project which has seen the area 'yarn-bombed' by local residents.

This collection of colourful, knitted items carefully arranged on the roadside was created by two women's groups from Southend Family Resource Centre (SFRC) who, in September of last year, learned how to knit and crochet under the guidance of tutors Betty McGuire and Josephine Whitmore.
