(WHTM) — Last month in the Midstate, we had 10 different business that closed their doors or announced their closure.
Here is a recap of all the closures from last month in case you missed it!
Harry's Furniture Center, Inc.
Harry's Furniture Center, Inc. recently announced it would be closing the doors to its location on 16 Graybill Road after 60 years of operation. The owner shared that the long-time store had been sold leading to their upcoming closure. Currently, the store is in its "final days" prior to its official closure. Kunzler & Company, Inc.
This Lancaster-based meats company, Kunzler & Company announced it would be closing its facility on 652 Manor Street. The facility was acquired by Clemons Food Group in September, and in October it was learned that 193 employees would be affected by the closure in December. Cabinetworks Group
After announcing that it would be closing down back in September, it was shared last month that 420 employees would be affected by the upcoming closure of the Juniata County-based Cabinetworks Group. The layoffs will start on December 9 and continue through December 21. The Grotto Pub
After 15 years in operation, a sports bar on 104 Market Street in Cumberland County called The Grotto Pub closed its doors. The long-time bar closed after the owners were unable to negotiate a lease renewal agreement. The pub officially closed on October 7. Room 101: The Med
This locally owned Mediterranean-style restaurant announced it would be closing its new location on 35 West Main Street in Annville, Lebanon County. Room 101: The Med shared that it was closing because it did not experience the growth necessary to stay operational. The restaurant will officially close its doors this Saturday. Englewood Hershey
The Englewood Hershey shared early last month that they would be closing their doors temporarily in order to make improvements to the restaurant space. Although the Englewood Hershey closed on October 14, their event space will remain fully operational. JB Kelly Seafood Connection
This long-time seafood announced last month that it was closing its long-time stand at the Broad Street Market after 11 years. The company said they decided to close because they never fully recovered after the market burned down last year. Although JB Kelly Seafood is closing its stand on November 16, its brick-and-mortar location on 982 Peters Mountain Road will remain open. Arooga's Grille House & Sports Bar
A local Arooga's restaurant located at 201 North 2nd Street in Harrisburg closed its doors last month due to damages to the ceiling inside the restaurant. Arooga's has still not reopened the restaurant, but said they would share updates on its upcoming reopening on social media. Ziggy Donuts
This local specialty donut shop decided earlier this month to close the doors to its storefront on 130 Eisenhower Drive in Hanover. Ziggy Donuts decided to close the brick-and-mortar storefront so they could focus on operating their food truck full-time. Moving forward, the father and son owners hope to add one or two more truck to their fleet.On October 29, PepsiCo announced that it would be closing down its production operations at its facility on 941 Dana Drive in Harrisburg, resulting in 127 layoffs. Additionally, PepsiCo shared that they ceased transport operations at their Carlisle facility as well. Moving forward, the Harrisburg location will continue to have sales, delivery, and warehouse operations teams.
