What to know, how to watch Notre Dame women's basketball vs. James Madison
Local Notre Dame women's basketball fans have one more opportunity to see the Fighting Irish in action in South Bend until December. That chance is tonight against James Madison.
Here's everything you need to know about Notre Dame's second home game of the season and the finale one until the Irish host No. 4 Texas on Dec. 5.
Notre Dame women's basketball vs. James Madison game info• The Irish have the reigning ACC Player of the Week ... and her name is not Hannah Hidalgo . It's Olivia Miles . In Miles first two games since Feb. 2023, she averaged 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. She had a triple-double in the season opener.
• Hidalgo is still doing her thing in leading Notre Dame at 23.5 points per game to go along with 8.0 rebounds and 6.0 steals per game.
• Pitt transfer Liatu King has been one of the best players in the ACC in the early going as well in averaging 21.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game.
• Senior guards Sonia Citron missed the season opener but returned in the Irish's win over Purdue on Sunday. She put up 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 24 minutes.
• Notre Dame only had eight healthy players available against Purdue even with Citron in the starting lineup. It'll likely be the same eight against JMU; Miles, Hidalgo, King, Citron, Kate Koval Cassandre Prosper Emma Risch Sarah Cernugel . Expect Koval, the five-star freshman center, to start if that's the case. Koval is averaging 13.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in 28.1 minutes per game.
What to know about James Madison• James Madison has beaten Kent State, Loyola Maryland and East Carolina to start the season. In two of those wins, the Dukes put up fewer than 70 points.
• This is a program coming off a 23-12 season and a first-round loss to Stony Brook in the WBIT. The Dukes did not play any ranked teams last season. Their most notable result was probably a 85-69 loss to a Michigan State team that went 22-9 and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
• Four JMU players are averaging in double figures in the scoring department through three games, including 6-3 center Kseniia Kozlova of Russia. She leads the team at 12.3 points per game. Peyton McDaniel, a 6-0 guard from Pennsylvania, is averaging a double-double with 11.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
