What to Watch this week: Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande cast a spell in Wicked

Twenty-one years after opening on Broadway, Wicked — starring Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda — finally hits theaters, casting a spell with its story of the two Oz witches when they met at school and became friends.

Also in theaters, Ridley Scott returns to the arena for Gladiator II , starring Paul Mescal , Pedro Pascal , Denzel Washington , and Connie Nielsen . And available to stream, Saoirse Ronan stars in Blitz , and John David Washington , Danielle Deadwyler, Samuel L. Jackson , and more star in the adaptation of August Wilson's play, The Piano Lesson .

On TV, The Sex Lives of College Girls returns for a new season, and the Cruel Intentions series debuts. Plus, the One Chicago franchise, Law & Order , Grey's Anatomy , and more shows have their midseason finales, while Outlander is back for the second half of season 7.
