18-wheeler driver dies after fiery crash in Canton

CANTON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – A driver has died after 18-wheeler struck a bridge in Canton and went off the side of the bridge, according to authorities.
The crash occurred Monday night on Interstate 55 South at Highway 22 (West Peace Street).
Ridgeland man killed in Holmes County crash
Canton Police Chief Otha Brown said a witness told officers that the 18-wheeler hit the bridge and went off the side of the rails. The vehicle caught on fire after the vehicle crashed. The driver of the 18-wheeler has not been identified.
Madison County deputies, the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), Canton firefighters, EMS, and the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) also responded to the scene.
