Where you can cast your ballot in Central Texas on Election Day

B.Lee2 hr ago
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - McLennan County election officials want to remind voters about the countywide polling place program, which allows residents to vote at any polling location in the county on Election Day. The program should help voters avoid long lines and wait times at the polls.

"Don't be discouraged if you show up somewhere and there's a long line because there's probably another vote center right around the corner from you," McLennan County Elections Administrator, Jared Goldsmith, said.

McLennan County is one of five counties in the Central Texas area that use this program, allowing voters to go to the polling location that is easiest for them or chose another nearby location if wait times are long.

McLennan County has 46 voting locations for the Nov. 5 2024 Election, which is more than it had for the last presidential race in 2020.

First Assembly of God Church in Waco is one of the busiest locations in the county showing lines outside nearly every day of the early voting period. Goldsmith said the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church is an a polling location about a mile away.

He encourages voters to check the map or location list before heading to the polls.

Bell, Coryell and Lampasas counties also use the countywide polling place program, which means voters can go to any location in the county to cast their ballots.
