The charter school movement is about to take a political beating of the worst kind, thanks to the greed and vanity of the folks who run the College Achieve network of 11 charter schools, sprinkled from Paterson to Asbury Park.

It's not fair, because College Achieve is just one sleazy outfit, and the huge salaries its bosses take home are not typical. The CEO at College Achieve, Michael Piscal, earned a salary of about $800,000 a year – with taxpayer money - until Matthew Stanmyre of NJ Advance Media exposed the scam . Poor Piscal has to scratch by on just $400,000 a year for now, as the board investigates.
