William R. Brown, 60, of Pittston, formerly of Avoca, died Wednesday, February 27 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Plymouth, May 30, 1947, he was a son of the late Charles and Merida (Barber) Brown. William attended Plymouth schools and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid pool player, playing with several local teams associated with the American Pool Players Association. He was also associated with many area motorcycle groups.
Billy will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by three sons, William and his wife Jamie, Tampa Fla.; Keith, Pittston; and Scott, Portsmouth, N.H.; a daughter, Erica and her husband Jorge Neyra, Washington, D.C.; brothers Ronald Brown, Plymouth and Charles Brown, Nanticoke; and sister Marylyn Harry, Plymouth. He is also survived by a grandson Sebastian Neyra and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Brown.

Funeral services will be held Saturday evening, March 1 at 6 p.m. at Kiesinger Funeral Services, 255 McAlpine St. Duryea, with the Reverend Michael Shambora of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Avoca conducting services. Friends may call for visitation from 3 p.m. until time of service.
