GRAND ISLAND — William H. Bauer Jr., 68, of Grand Island, died Monday, October 14, 2024.
Celebration of Life Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 18, at Christ Lutheran Church. Pastor Josh Hillmann will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Marine Corps and United Veterans Honor Guard. Family will be greeting friends an hour before service. Husker attire is encouraged.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Bill was born May 19, 1956, in York, Neb., the son of William H. Sr. and Leora (Meyer) Bauer. He was raised in Geneva, graduating from Geneva High School, class of 1974. He attended Brown Mackie Business College in Salina, Kan. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1976-1982.
He married Vickie Gould on June 20, 1981. Some of Bill's enjoyments included umpiring softball, the Grand Island Little Theatre and following Nebraska football.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Dawn (Kevin) Sloan, Tony (Jami) Bauer and Joshua Bauer; his significant other, Debbie Butler; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Richard Milenkovich, James (Corinna) Bauer, David Bauer, Pamela (James) Edmondson and Beverly Evans; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie, in 2003; and his parents.
