A 20-year-old driver drove a car into water and left a teen girl injured, Washington police said. On Nov. 16, the accused impaired driver had a 17-year-old passenger in her car at the Atlantic City Boat Ramp, according to a news release by Seattle police. When firefighters arrived, the woman, who was on the shore, told them a teen was missing and potentially still in the water, officers said. After the car went into the water, both females were able to get out of the vehicle through the window, but the teenager was unable to swim to shore, officers said. The girl was found unresponsive, and firefighters began life-saving measures before both she and the driver were sent to Harborview Medical Center, police said. As of Nov. 17, the woman is stable and the teen is in critical condition, officers said. Police didn't identify either in the release. The woman was arrested on a charge of vehicular assault, police said. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 206-684-8923.
