Woman arrested for reportedly beating date with bottle of Don Julio

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport police responded an assault & battery incident at around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3.

The incident happened at a hotel in the 6700 block of Rasberry Lane.

Officers describe the scene as being marked by "a strong smell of alcohol and blood on the floor." A man was also found with severe bleeding from his head.

Investigators determined that the victim and Tiana Phelps traveled together from Dallas after meeting on Facebook a few days prior. After arguing about finances, the situation became violent and Phelps allegedly hit the victim multiple times in the head with a bottle of Don Julio tequila.

The victim sustained significant lacerations to the right side of his face and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Phelps was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree battery.
