Woman arrested in Chattanooga in connection to Nashville homicide

A Nashville homicide suspect wanted in connection to a fatal shooting in September was arrested Wednesday in Chattanooga.

Metro Nashville police said Shakia Davidson, 22, was arrested Wednesday by Chattanooga police after detectives in Nashville were unable to locate her following the shooting.

Police said Davidson was an acquaintance of 32-year-old Dorothy Stephens. Stephens was found dead in the passenger seat of a black Chevrolet Tahoe parked on Green Street in the Napier area.

Police believe the two women were involved in an argument Sept. 8 before Stephens was fatally shot.

Chattanooga police took Davidson into custody safely. She will be returned to Nashville.
