Woman arrested with over 30 grams of drugs in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – A traffic stop in Asheville led to a woman's arrest after officers discovered over 30 grams of drugs to be in her possession Saturday night.

Officers conducting proactive enforcement in the north area of downtown Asheville around 9:21 p.m. witnessed a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations and initiated a stop, according to the Asheville Police Department.

Reports state during the traffic stop on Crescent Street, the driver, identified as Alexis Helena Cromer, was found to be in possession of a trafficking amount of fentanyl, methamphetamine and Oxycodone. The 28-year-old was taken into custody without incident.

Officers seized the following:

  • Miscellaneous scales, baggies, and foil

  • Cromer was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under no bond due to a parole violation. She has been charged with the following:

  • Trafficking fentanyl

  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine

  • Felony possession of schedule II

  • possession of drug paraphenalia

  • Misdemeanor possession of schedule II

  • Parole commission violation

  • Felony probation violation out of county

  • Driving while license revoked

  • Failure to stop for a red light

  • Unsafe lane change

  • Improper use of lane
