Woman found dead in Jacksonville's Marietta area, police say
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are investigating after a woman was found dead in Jacksonville's Marietta area Saturday morning.
Around 7:30 a.m., a person called 911 to report a dead woman in a vacant lot in the 1700 block of Pickettville Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
JSO is currently conducting an investigation and the woman's death is "unclassified." The agency said the woman is white and they are working to contact the person who called 911.
JSO Sgt. Joshua Catir said foul play does appear to be involved early on but said the agency is not releasing further details, with detectives still working to determine a timeline.
