The child inside the stroller was not struck or killed during the crash, which happened on Oct. 30 at 12:29 p.m. at the intersection of State Street and Dillon Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
When deputies responded to the crash last month, an unresponsive female pedestrian was being treated by paramedics. She was taken to a hospital with significant injuries, where she died weeks later on Nov. 6., authorities said.
Her identity still has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators say on Oct. 30, the driver was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection when the woman, pushing a child in a stroller, began to cross Dillon Avenue within the unmarked crosswalk. As the driver proceeded to make the right turn, the car struck the woman, knocking her to the ground.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation and criminal charges may be sought. No other information was immediately available.
Anyone with information was urged to contact Deputy Bunn at the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station at 951-766-2366 or Riverside County Sheriff's Dispatch at 951-776-1099.
