Woody Allen and wife Soon-Yi Previn attend sex app party in NYC as he resurfaces after #MeToo allegations

Woody Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn appear to be making a reemergence into New York City 's social scene.

The Academy Award-winning filmmaker, 88, and his spouse, 54, attended a launch party for a sex app at literary staple Daphne Merkin's Upper East Side abode, Page Six reported Wednesday.

The New York City native and Previn - the estranged adopted daughter of Allen's ex-partner Mia Farrow - had been 'notably missing from the cocktail party circuit' in Gotham in the wake of pushback amid the #MeToo movement, the outlet reported.

Pushback at Allen amid the industry-wide sea change stemmed in part from allegations of sexual misconduct made against him by adopted stepdaughter Dylan Farrow in 1992. Allen, who has denied the allegations , wasn't charged following a 1993 probe by authorities in Connecticut .

The Annie Hall director was seen conversing 'cheerfully' with other guests at the bash held by Merkin, a decades-long friend who penned a 2018 New York Magazine piece on Previn that created a stir .

The Blue Jasmine director 'didn't stay for long' at the bash, which was organized by publicist Kaitlin Phillips, the outlet reported.

The celebration, according to the outlet, was for 'the launch of a heavyweight literary magazine made by' the app Feeld which calls itself 'the dating app for the curious.'

The app provides settings in which members can search for potential hookup scenarios that include a range of options such as and FFFF; voyeurs and celibacy, according to the outlet.

The magazine is called AFM, Page Six reported, and includes material from contributors such as Jazmine Hughes, Allison P. Davis and Susanna Moore, with Haley Mlotek and Maria Dimitrova editing.

Other notable names at the bash included Feeld CEO Ana Kirova, painter David Salle, novelist Emma Cline, and journalists Candace Bushnell, Paula Froelich and Molly Jong Fast.

The magazine will be published bi-annually and can be purchased at newsstands and ReadAFM.com for $24.

'The inaugural issue Pursuits of Happiness explores all facets of what it means to reach for joy, pleasure, satisfaction, grace, desire - or whatever other euphemism comes to mind when you think of what it means to be in pursuit, or to be happy, or both - as well as the experience of feeling these concepts most acutely in their absence,' the publication said.

Allen, whose $68 million contract with Amazon Studios to make four films was canceled during the #MeToo movement, has been challenged in finding distributors for his movies in recent years.

The Hannah and Her Sisters director in April spoke about cancel culture in an interview with AirMail .

'Someone asked me about cancel culture, and I said, "If you're going to be canceled, this is the culture that you want to be canceled from,"' said Allen. 'Because who wants to be part of this culture?'

In the 2018 New York Magazine piece Merkin penned, Previn defended her husband amid industry pushback over the past seven years: 'What's happened to Woody is so upsetting, so unjust.'

She opened up about her stormy relationship with Mia Farrow, saying that the Rosemary's Baby actress 'wasn't maternal to me from the get-go' and accused Mia of having 'taken advantage of the #MeToo movement and paraded Dylan as a victim.'

Previn pointed out damage to her spouse's reputation, saying that 'a whole new generation is hearing about it when they shouldn't.'
