Worker Rescued Afer Being Trapped In Elevator In Warminster The Warminster Fire Department helped rescue an employee who was trapped on Wednesday morning.

WARMINSTER, PA —The Warminster Fire Department volunteer and career personnel responded to a local business for a stuck elevator on Wednesday morning.

Fire crews found a worker who had already been stuck for two hours.

Crews worked to ensure the worker was safe and calm while they worked on a plan.

The type of elevator at the location necessitated special equipment and tactics for responding when an elevator mechanic was not available and basic troubleshooting steps had been exhausted.

Additional personnel from Bucks County Special Operations , Montgomery County Department of Public Safety , and Bensalem Volunteer Fire Department- Station 16 assisted in the elevator rescue.

Crews appropriately secured power, monitored the space with gas meters due to the presence of chemicals, created high points using rope to ensure fire personnel and the worker were protected from falls during the operation, and stabilized the rail car to prevent movement, fire officials said.

The worker was then assisted out of the elevator car and up the shaft using ladders to safety, fire officials said.

"Thank you to our mutual aid partners who assisted, Bucks County 911 , plant staff and the employee's coworkers who responded to the scene to assist with the assessment of the chemicals the employee had with them in the elevator," the fire department said.
