Per the Yosemite National Park's website , the Four Mile Trail measures a distance of 4.8 miles one way to Glacier Point, and its level of difficulty is described as "strenuous."

The park notes that the trail offers "spectacular views of Yosemite Valley, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, and, eventually, [the rock monument] Half Dome ."

The park's recommendations for a safe experience on the trail include starting the hike early, as it gets hot during the mid-day; staying on the trail and not cutting switchbacks; and being mindful that the trail is partially paved and has loose sands.
