Born on November 5, 1924, Kathleen from Coolnagower, Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary was the youngest of seven children.

Kathleen left Tipperary to train as a telephonist for the post office. Her work took her to Tinahely where she met her husband, Michael. They set up home and a business in Inch. They went on to have a family of 10 children including two sets of twins and a set of triplets, 17 grandchildren, six great grandchildren with one more on the way.

Kathleen is an active member of the Irish County Women's Association since 1954 and over the years won many prizes. When work allowed Kathleen travelled the world in the company of good friends. Kathleen devoted her whole life to serving the people of inch and the surrounding areas, where she is loved and respected by all.

Since her retirement, Kathleen loves to spend time in her greenhouse, and keeps her mind sharp with the daily paper doing crosswords and keeping up to date with current affairs.

When Kathleen was asked the secret to her longevity, she said hard work, good food and her faith. "Your health is your wealth and I'm very lucky I haven't a pain or an ache" she said.
