YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — York College is cutting the ribbon on a new space on campus for students and businesses Friday afternoon.

Knowledge Park, a space dedicated to fostering innovation and community partnerships, is located at a papermill that dates back to the 1800s. The repurposed papermill is now a one-stop shop for intellectual resources on campus.

"The Knowledge Park will serve as a dedicated on-campus space for external partners seeking to connect with York College's intellectual resources—including students and faculty—in a collaborative environment," York College says.

The park will also have rentable spaces for businesses.

The park intends to strengthen industry and academic ties through the partnerships it will provide, York College said. Additionally, the project aims to drive up social and economic growth within the community.

The ceremony is being held at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at 427 Kings Mill Road in York County.
