Youngstown police arrest man accused of firing gun during argument with woman
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Reports said a man was arrested early Friday on a South Side street after reports said he fired two shots while arguing with a woman.
Dwan Jones, 47, was booked into the Mahoning County Jail on a charge of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He is expected to be arraigned later Friday in municipal court.
The woman was not injured.
Reports said police were called about 3:30 a.m. to West Myrtle Avenue for a report of a man chasing a woman with a gun, and when they arrived, they found Jones staggering on the sidewalk asking about a woman. After several commands, he showed his hands and was taken into custody.
When police searched him, they found a gun in his pockets, reports said. Nearby, they found a loaded drum magazine and two shell casings, reports said.
Reports said a woman told police that she was with Jones, and when she called for a ride, he was upset it was a man who was coming to get her and he pulled a gun and fired it. She ran away, and he fired two more shots, reports said.
A witness also told police they heard two shots fired, reports said.
