Aspyn Ovard does not have plans to get married again anytime soon.

In an interview on the Weekly Trash podcast with Josie Van Dyke on Sept. 16, Ovard, 27, revealed that she wouldn't get married again after her divorce from Parker Ferris .

"I don't think I believe in the concept of marriage at this point," she explained, adding, "you just never know what life is gonna throw at you," and that she felt like she "couldn't commit" to getting legally married again.

She explained further that it would be "too hard to separate" from her partner if they got married and that she would rather have the option to walk away when she felt like a relationship ran its course.

"I would have a long-term partner If I met someone," Ovard clarified on the podcast. "But to get legally married I would never do it again."

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Ovard filed for divorce in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 1 — the same day she posted about the birth of her third child with Ferris on Instagram and TikTok .

Ferris — then Ovard's husband of eight years — was present in the videos posted by the creator and wore his wedding band. One of the videos featured Ferris pointing toward Ovard's baby bump just before birth, mouthing the words, "my friend's in there."

Additional court documents from April 17 revealed that a Salt Lake County district court judge agreed to pause the couple's divorce proceedings "pending the outcome of settlement negotiations."

Since then, Ovard has not revealed the name or exact birth date of her third child and shared on July 13 that she and her family moved to California from Salt Lake City . In a video posted to YouTube, she said that the move was something she's been wanting "for literally years now" and that she has "no desire to go back to Salt Lake."

The YouTube star broke her silence about her divorce proceedings in a TikTok on Aug. 22 and used the "demure" trend to address why she hadn't spoken about the situation.

In the video she held her newborn and said, "You see how I considered my children and how it would affect them to have their family's personal information shared all over the Internet? Very smart, very good mom."

Ovard also shared that she would "continue to stay unbothered and not share anything to protect my peace."

Despite the ongoing divorce proceedings, there seems to be no bad blood between the couple, at least publicly. In a TikTok posted on Sept. 18, Ovard revealed that she and Ferris are still "besties" and posed with him and their newborn with Olivia Rodrigo 's "Bad Idea Right?" playing in the background.

Ovard also posted a second video on TikTok with Ferris hanging out in the background while she danced with her newborn in her arms.
