ENFIELD, N.H. (WCAX) - A cybersecurity mistake in Enfield, New Hampshire resulted in hundreds of thousands of town funds going missing. The town manager there says a town employee was trying to update Enfield's bank account information, but did not follow the correct procedures, leading to more than $742,000 being deposited into a fraudulent account. They say $450,000 of that money has been successfully frozen by Bank of America and is in the process of being recovered by the town. The town manager says the employee who made the mistake is no longer employed with them. He also says the funds involved in this situation were tied to a public safety building project and were not associated with the town's general fund.
