77-84 - Rangers come all the way back to upend Angels in final evening affair

The Texas Rangers scored nine runs while the Anaheim Angels scored eight runs.

My goodness. What did Ron Washington do to deserve this?

The Rangers seemed to be content handing this one away after trailing 7-1 through three innings but the Angels appear to have mastered the art of turning sure wins into losses. After all, they were most recently swept by the worst-ever White Sox.

With six runs in the final two frames, including four in the ninth, the Rangers completed their largest comeback win of the year in the season's final night game.

Of note, the Rangers allowed Andrew Heaney to pass the 160 innings pitch threshold to earn an additional $1.5 million on the way out. That's a classy move and though he pitched potentially his worst outing here in the last one, Heaney deserved it for making a career-high 31 starts and being the lone member of the rotation to never hit the shelf this season.

Also pretty nifty, the Rangers had two debuts tonight with Dustin Harris drawing a walk in three PAs as Texas' DH while Marc Church tossed a scoreless inning in his first big league appearance. Lucky for them, their memories of their MLB debut is now tied to a come-from-behind victory instead of a blowout loss to a team that was most recently swept by the worst-ever White Sox.

Player of the Game: Nathaniel Lowe homered, drew a walk, had three hits, scored three runs, and produced three RBIs as the big producer in the lineup tonight.
