7 fall treats to enjoy around Tampa Bay before it’s Christmas

We're in that weird time of year, when Halloween is over but Thanksgiving is still weeks away, and Christmas decorations are slowly going up. In that spirit, I've compiled some fall beverages to indulge in while it's still socially acceptable. Get thee to one of these Tampa Bay spots before we're officially onto the next season, and grab a festive cup.

Note: Menus are changing constantly, especially this time of year. Check before you go to make sure these treats are still being offered.

Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte with Vanilla Cold Foam at Buddy Brew Coffee: This delicately sweetened espresso drink is subtly seasonal, a balanced treat topped with a delicious vanilla cold foam. It's that whipped topper that makes this beverage a standout. (If you're in the mood for a warm drink, you can get the flavored syrup in any hot coffee, too.)

Maple Bourbon Latte at Bandit: This local favorite is an old-timer but for very good reason. The housemade syrup is a perfectly balanced blend of Kentucky bourbon (boiled away so it doesn't contain actual alcohol), Vermont maple syrup, demerara sugar, vanilla and star anise. You can get the syrup in any coffee drink they offer, but it's best in the latte, with just the right amount of espresso and milk to convey maximum cozy fall vibes. There's also a killer lineup of seasonal pastries that change often but are always worth browsing.

Pumpkin Chai Cloudy at Blush Tea and Coffee: This St. Petersburg cafe serves food, coffee and, their specialty, lots and lots of tea. Loose-leaf canisters line the wall behind the register, and there is always a bevy of fun seasonal options here. But my current fave is the Pumpkin Chai Cloudy, a house blend of their Tea House Chai and Pumpkin Spice teas, steamed with your choice of milk and vanilla syrup.

The Fig Street at Willa's: A lovely iced option for this time of year, the inclusion of fig helps this bev at Tampa spot Willa's stand out from the others on this list. It's a nice, subtle sweet flavor rounded out by lemon and warm spices.

Smoked Butterscotch Latte at Atria: This Manatee County coffee shop and cafe always has a stellar lineup of seasonal drinks and food (their whole menu changes every couple of months), and fall is no exception. The Smoked Butterscotch Latte is the standout this year, made with two shots of espresso, milk, a housemade burnt orange butterscotch syrup and abundantly fragrant cinnamon smoke.

Pumpkin Spice Cloud Cold Brew at Cafe Clementine: What I appreciate most about this drink is how different it is from other fall coffee beverages. A cold coffee concoction made with beans brewed for 16 hours, it's got tasting notes of cocoa and baking spices. The best part? It's topped with a fluffy vegan cream and flavored with a house blend of autumnal spices. Perfect for a Florida fall day.
