2024 Heisman Watch: Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart on top; Nico Iamaleava climbs leaderboard

J.Mitchell24 min ago
The 2024 Heisman Trophy odds look a lot different following Week 4 of the college football season than they did the previous week.

While Miami QB Cam Ward stayed atop the Heisman odds leaderboard, Ole Miss signal-caller Jaxson Dart made a move up to the No. 2 spot after throwing for 382 yards in a 52-13 win over Georgia Southern .

There were several other big movers in this weekend's Heisman Watch, including Tennessee 's Nico Iamaleava , who continues to shine in his first season as a starter under center.

Here is a look at the current Heisman Trophy odds following a jam-packed Week 4.

Cam Ward, QB, Miami (Fla.): +370

Ward entered the weekend with the best Heisman odds and the Hurricanes ' star QB showed why on Saturday night. He threw for 404 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Miami's dominant 50-15 victory over South Florida . Ward has thrown for at least 300 yards and three touchdowns in every game this season while helping lead the Canes to a perfect 4-0 mark.

Next: Ward and the Hurricanes host Virginia Tech on Sept. 27.

Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss: +500

Dart threw two touchdown passes in the opening nine minutes and finished with four as Ole Miss routed Georgia Southern 52-13 on Saturday night. The senior signal-caller is putting up video game-like numbers so far this season, completing 83% of his passes for 1,172 yards and eight touchdowns through the air, while also adding three more scores on the ground.

Next: Dart and the Rebels host Kentucky on Sept. 28.

Jalen Milroe, QB, , +750

Milroe and the Crimson Tide had a bye week following an impressive 42-10 win over Wisconsin last weekend. Through three games this season, Milroe has completed 67.3% of his passes for 590 yards and eight touchdowns, while also adding 156 yards and six scores on the ground.

Next: Milroe and the Crimson Tide host No. 2 Georgia on Sept. 28.

Nico Iamaleava, QB, : +1000

Iamaleava was a fast riser on this list, but the Vols relied on a heavy run game in a 25-15 win over Oklahoma on Saturday night. The talented redshirt freshman threw just 21 passes in the game, completing 13 of them for 194 yards and a touchdown. Don't expect Tennessee to run the ball 52 times every game, meaning Iamaleava should have more opportunities to make his Heisman case down the road.

Next: Iamaleava and the Vols have a bye next week before traveling to Arkansas to take on the Razorbacks on Oct. 5.

Dillon Gabriel, QB, : +1200

Gabriel entered the 2024 season as a Heisman favorite, but his odds slipped following Oregon's struggles in the first two weeks of the season. Gabriel and the Ducks got back on track last weekend with a dominant 49-14 win over in-state rival Oregon State . Gabriel was near-perfect in the victory, completing 20 of 24 passes for 291 yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air, while adding 64 yards and a score on the ground.

The Ducks were idle this week before kicking off Big Ten play next weekend against their in-state rivals.

Next: Gabriel and the Ducks take on UCLA on Sept. 28.

Quinn Ewers, QB, : +1400

Ewers did not play this week after suffering an abdominal strain in the Longhorns ' 56-7 win over UTSA last weekend. Through three games, the Longhorns' junior signal-caller has completed 73.4% of his passes for 691 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

Arch Manning made his first career start in place of Ewers on Saturday. The talented redshirt freshman completed 15 of 29 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-3 victory over ULM. Ewers could return for the Longhorns' SEC opener next weekend.

Next: Ewers and the Longhorns host Mississippi State on Sept. 28

Carson Beck, QB, : +1400

Beck, along with Gabriel, were the Heisman leaders heading into the 2024 campaign. The Bulldogs ' senior signal-caller has been solid to start the year, but his numbers simply haven't been as eye-catching as the likes of Ward, Milroe and Dart. Through three games, which includes wins over Clemson and Kentucky, Beck has completed 68.3% of his passes for 680 yards and seven touchdowns.

Beck and the Dawgs had a bye this weekend before a massive SEC showdown against Alabama.

Next: Beck and the Bulldogs travel to Tuscaloosa to take on No. 4 Alabama on Sept. 28.
