3 teenagers arrested for series of Cleveland car break-ins: Police

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Three teenage boys were arrested Tuesday in a series of car break-ins in Cleveland.

According to a news release from the Cleveland Division of Police, officers responded to reports of 14 vehicle break-ins in the Detroit Shoreway area.

According to the release, the suspects were found in possession of a stolen vehicle from Cleveland Heights. One suspect was also carrying a stolen firearm.

A 14-, 16- and 17-year-old were all arrested in connection to the crimes.

"The Division believes these juveniles are involved in many other car break-ins over the past few weeks," the release said.

Two of the suspects were taken into custody at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center and the third was released with a GPS monitor, according to the release.

"I am proud of the hard work our officers and detectives put into investigating, tracking, and arresting these individuals," Chief Dorothy Todd is quoted in the release. "Both the community and our Division have felt the impact of these crimes, and it was a priority for us to bring these suspects into custody."

The investigations are ongoing into the recent string of crimes, the release said.
