A hot Monday with seasonal Fall weather taking over soon

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTALKMSS) – We will have near-record high temperatures to begin the week, but a late-day cold front will bring seasonal Fall feeling weather by tomorrow.

It will be a clear and pleasant day at sunrise with temperatures in the 60s. Sunny skies will warm our temperatures into the upper 80s and low 90s this afternoon. The record high in Shreveport is 93 degrees, which may be tied or broken.

The front will not bring any rain but it will wipe out any lingering humidity and begin to drop our temperatures tonight. Lows will be in the 50s in all areas. High temperatures tomorrow will be in the low to mid-80s.

This cold front will also be the feature that keeps Hurricane Milton away from the Texas and Louisiana coasts. The front will scoop up Milton and send it east into Florida's Gulf coast midweek as a possible major category 3 or 4 hurricane.

The high-pressure building behind our cold front will keep a constant flow of dry air in our pattern throughout the week. Temperatures will be chilly each night, with warm but pleasant days in the low to mid-80s with no humidity Tuesday through Friday.

We didn't see any rain last week, and we are not likely to see any rain this week which will bring continued drought conditions. Fire danger is increasing and we will likely begin to see burn bans issued throughout the week. You can visit or bookmark our burn ban page to stay informed in the upcoming weeks:
