abc27 News wins two Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WHTM) — Some members of the abc27 News team were recognized Saturday night in the Steel City as the station received two Mid-Atlantic Emmy awards.

The abc27 News Daybreak team received the Emmy for small market newscast — markets outside Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The awards were presented in Pittsburgh.

Recognized were anchors James Crummel and Ali Lanyon, meteorologist Brett Thackara, reporter Kayla Schmidt, photojournalist Justin Raub, and producer/executive producer Erin English.

Reporter Seth Kaplan and videographer/editor Zackary Lang were also recognized with an Emmy for Business/Consumer/Technology story for their entry "ALS sufferer gets AI-powered voice."
