About Town: New exhibit, nonprofit gala among things to do in the Quad-Cities this weekend
With the Family : Hubble Space Telescope new exhibit
Looking for something the whole family to enjoy? The Putnam Museum and Science Center is hosting a traveling exhibit from NASA, Hubble Space Telescope : New Views of the Universe. The exhibit is open this Saturday through Sunday, Jan. 26. Admission is $12 for adults; $10 for youth 3-18; and free for those 2 and under.
Throughout the exhibit are multiple hands-on interactives to experience components of the telescopes, reveal the inner-workings and see the magnificent images of stars, galaxies, and planets that have been collected. Alongside information on the various tools in the telescopes, the whole family will learn about the hurdles astronauts have overcome during the construction and servicing of the telescopes and their satellites.
Dine and Drink : Bingo Bash in Coal Valley
Bingo, food, music, auction and more? You will have it at the Bingo Bash supporting Epilepsy Advocacy Network on Saturday at The Rock in Coal Valley. It is a fun evening of bingo, music, food and drinks, silent auction, and raffles, all in support of people in our community who have epilepsy.
The Bingo Bash is from 6 to 10 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door for $20. Food and drinks available for purchase, $20 for 10 bingo games, $120 to reserve a table of 8 (includes bingo games for eight people at discounted rate of $15 per person).
On a Date : Wine & Chocolate Experience
What's better than wine and chocolate? Sample more than 40 different wines and over 20 different chocolate samples from local vendors. Join the Jaycees of the Quad Cities at their newest event, the Wine & Chocolate experience this Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Golden Leaf Banquet Hall, 2902 E. Kimberly Road in Davenport.
Each ticket will get you admission to sample all the wines, 12 tasting tickets to use for chocolate samples, live music from Lewis Knudsen, wine glass, wine pull, silent auction and more. General admission is $50. For tickets visit
Proceeds are used to fund impact projects such as the Jaycee Santa Program, a 70-year program to provide gifts for over 1,000 area underprivileged children, teenagers, and adults.

Akwaaba QC is having its first-ever fundraising gala to showcase the incredible work it is doing as well as highlight its culture as a symbol of reception, hospitality, generosity and warm welcome to everyone.
The program includes special demonstration of the Akwaaba QC Calabash captivating choreography performances, a vibrant fashion show and delicious dinner to enjoy.
