Abundant Life Church celebrates 10th annual Pumpkin Fest in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Abundant Life Church hosted its 10th annual Pumpkin Fest on Sunday.

Locals gathered at the Abundant Life Church parking lot from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. During the event, there were free activities for families such as carnival games, face painting, games, hayrack and train rides, a petting zoo with food vendors.

Frank Gordoa, the lead pastor at Abundant Life Church, said the event is special because it helps create fun through church.

"We took the church literally outside of the building to serve people, love people, care for people. It's not a time for preaching so much in our words, but in our actions, showing the love of Jesus Christ because this is what we believe we were called to do," Gordoa said.

Even though it is a single day event, it takes months of preparation. Gordoa shared that he hopes the annual Pumpkin Fest continues to bring a positive impact on the community.
