Kathleen Louise Ahlgren, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Richmond, MN, on September 23rd, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 30th, 1942, in Clarissa, MN, and lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication to those around her. Kathy graduated from Cloquet High School in 1960 and married Ron, the love of her life, on September 8th, 1962. Kathy earned her certification as an X-ray technician in 1962 and went on to work for over 30 years at the Raiter Clinic in Cloquet where she built deep friendships with her co-workers and touched many lives with her caring nature. Known for her love of cooking, gardening, cross country skiing, and walking to work, Kathy also enjoyed golfing with her beloved husband, Ron, with whom she shared an inseparable bond. Together, they built a beautiful life, and after Ron's retirement, they made their home on Big Lake, a cherished gathering place for family. Kathy was devoted to her children, Karlene and Jason, and especially her four grandchildren: Luke Hunt, Joshua Hunt, Arbor Ahlgren, and Sean Ahlgren. Her grandchildren were a source of great joy, and she adored every moment spent with them. She was also very close to her siblings: her sisters Mary and Diane, and her brothers John, Tom, Dan and Rick. Family was always at the center of Kathy's heart, and she remained close to her loved ones throughout her life. Kathy's gentle spirit and strength were evident during her seven-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Even as she faced this challenge, she remained the kind, loving, and wonderful woman everyone knew her to be. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her fresh baked bread, her unwavering love for her family and friends, and the beauty she brought to the world in her gardens and in her relationships. One of her favorite quotes, which is still hanging in her house, is "The best things in life are the people we love, the places we've been, and the memories we've made". Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Ron, and her parents Raymond and Edna Luke. She will be greatly missed by her two children, Karlene Hunt and Jason (Tammy) Ahlgren, her sisters Mary (Al, deceased) Plante and Diane (Roy, deceased) Charon, her brothers John (Bonnie) Luke, Tom (Adrianne) Luke, Rick (Sue, deceased), and Dan (Laurie) Luke, and her four grandchildren Luke, Joshua, Arbor and Sean, numerous nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. at their home on Big Lake, MN. The flowers will be blooming, and casual clothing is encouraged. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Ron and Kathy Ahlgren Education Fund at
