Kristen Bell and Adam Brody were among the stars to attend Netflix's showcase photocall at the Tudum Theater in Los Angeles for their hit series Nobody Wants This. The romantic comedy tells the story of an unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman (Bell) and an unconventional rabbi (Brody). The event included a special screening of the show, followed by a conversation with creator and writer Erin Foster, as well as Bell — who's also an executive producer — Brody, and costars Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn and costume designer Negar Ali-Kline, according to Netflix . After making its premiere on the streamer on September 26, the series has been dubbed a breakout hit, appearing on Netflix's top 10 charts and even receiving a renewal for a second season in the wake of its popularity. Once the cameras were rolling, the two lead actors showed off their undeniable chemistry, with Bell looking stylish in baggy black slacks with a matching off-the-shoulder top and pointed pumps. The actress, 44, decided to keep the accessories to a minimum, while rounding out her look by having her blonde locks styled long and straight down her back with a part in the middle. Brody, 44, was the picture of casual-cool in blue jeans with a light-red sweater with black leather shoes, all while sporting short dark brown hair and a scruffy beard. The show leads struck a few solo poses for the cameras before joining up with some of their fellow cast and crew for a group shot. They were joined by costars Timothy Simons, Justine Lupe and Jackie Tohn, who all have prominent roles in the series. Nobody wants this was created by Erin Foster , who also serves as showrunner with Craig DiGregorio, Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan. The cast also features supporting players Stephanie Faracy, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Sherry Cola, Shiloh Bearman, Stephen Tobolowsky and Ryan Hansen. Bell plays the role of Joanne, a sex and dating podcaster, while Brody portrays Noah Roklov, a rabbi who gets introduced to Joanne. Sparks begin to fly when the two are introduced to each other at a dinner party hosted by Ashley, Noah's neighbor and Joanne's agent. Prior to working on the series, Bell had taken a significant break from acting to be a full-time mother to her daughters, Lincoln and Delta, whom she shares with husband Dax Shepard. While the Michigan native took a step back from acting, Bell wasn't considered 'retired,' as she was involved in other projects behind the scenes. After her break from the craft ,the mother of two said she feels 'more whole' after prioritizing her family. She was enticed to come back to performing, in part, after reading the script for Nobody Wants This and seeing its potential. The series is loosely based on the life of Foster, who happens to be the daughter of musician David Foster. The legendary producer is married to singer Katharine McPhee. The series has been consistently ranking high on Netflix's viewing charts, with some reports showing it reaching the number two spot. The entire season of Nobody Wants This, consisting of 10 episodes, is now streaming on Netflix.
